Doi Inthanon Summit, Thailand's highest peak, is an area covered with fertile high-altitude hill evergreen forests. It features temperate plants mixed with tropical plants, . The difference in temperature between Doi Inthanon Summit and its foothill area is apparent. A phenomenon occurs as a result of numerous elements such as the elevation which is also significant, as an increase in altitude results in a decrease in temperature. Each 100-meter increase in altitude results in a 0.1 degree Celsius drop in the average temperature. The climate is generally wet and cold throughout the year, particularly around Doi Inthanon's summit, which is characterized by ridges and mountain peaks. The weather is strongly windy and very cold, while the temperature drops to 0 – 4 degrees Celsius during the bitterly cold winter days in December and January, with frost moderately forming in the Doi Inthanon National Park Headquarters. At Doi Inthanon Summit, the stupa of King Inthawichayanon is also enshrined, giving the mountain its name. The national park has constructed an elevated walkway connecting the stupa to the visitor center, allowing visitors to appreciate the hill evergreen's natural beauty.
