Luang Cave - Tham Luang-Khun Nam Nang Non National Park (under gazetting)

General Information

Luang Cave is a cave formed over time by groundwater erosion. It is Thailand's fourth largest and deepest cavern, measuring 10.3 kilometers in length, 779 meters in average height, and sloping steeply to the east. The cavern’s entrance is significantly larger and more elevated than the first cave chamber. Inside the cave, reflective stone flakes, stalagmites, stalactites, streams, Lot Cave, and Khanaeng Cave  can be found. The cave chamber is connected by a winding trail, some of which are accessible or  have low ceilings. M any evidences are found as signs of cave evolution, including ripple marks, old ground layers, large and small rock collapses, tension cracks, water level marks, sinkholes, cave ceiling cavities, and wall cracks. It is a cavern  suitable for research (Assadang, 1995). The cave is open to visitors from November to April
