Wachirathan Waterfall, previously known as “Tat Khong Yong,” was later renamed in honor of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn. Originating from the Mae Klang Creek, the waterfall is large with a height of around 70-80 meters at an elevation of about 750 meters above mean sea level. Its water flows down into the plunge pool below throughout the year. When sunlight reflects on the water droplets, a stunning rainbow forms over the stream. On the other side of the river lies a steep cliff called “Pha Mon Kaeo,” which was later renamed “Pha Waen Kaeo.” The waterfall is located 81.2 kilometers from Chiang Mai city, at the milestone No. 20th of Highway No. 1009 (Chom Thong-Doi Inthanon). On the right of the crossroad, drive approximately 250 meters down a winding road to reach the waterfall. Facilities provided for visitors’ convenience include clean restaurants and shops. The entrance road is at a slope with a rough surface. travelingby iautomobiles or motorcycles is possible with caution. Gravel parking space is available, with a capacity for around 50 vehicles. Restrooms are separated for men and women and clean.
