The survey showed that the forest is in good condition, with steep hills and beautiful nature such as waterfalls, cliffs, and caves. According to the survey report on August 1, 1980, the Royal Forest Department proposed to the National Park Board, which was resolved in meeting number. 2/2523 on August 8, 1980, when it was deemed appropriate to designate the area as a national park. A royal decree specifying the area included Khlong Hin Sub-district, Ao Luek District, Khao Din Sub-district, Khao Phanom Sub-district, Khao Phanom District, Khao Khram, Thap Prik and Krabi Noi Sub-district, Mueang Krabi District, Krabi Province.
