Khao Kho National Park was established in 2004 and covers an area of 482.7 square kilometers, which includes the local forest, Lom Kao, Lom Sak, Khao Kho, and Mueang Phetchabun District, Phatchabun Province. Khao Kho National Park was originally known as Namtok Than Thip Forest Park , which was established in 1995. The Khao Phok Lon National Reserved Forest covers an area of approximately 14 square kilometers or 8,750 rai, and in 2000 From the Director of theProtected Area Regional Office and Director of the National Park's idea on February 15th, 2000 (the head of the park seminar) to the head of the park,it was decided to explore the surrounding area for potential and suitability for establishment of a National Park. with Mr. Chonlathorn Chamnankid, a forest scholar, who surveyed the preliminary data.
Background
In 2001, National Park Division Royal Forest Department undertook a survey of the forest areas in the Khao Phok Lon National Reserved Park, and the Khao Pang Ko National Reserved Forest, and the Wang Chomphu Forest. These 3 places are upstream forests and catchment areas for two important rivers, namely the Pa Sak River and the Yom-Nan River. These travel through in the Ban Noen Sub-district, Lom Kao District, Nam Ko, Nam Chun, Bung Nam Tao and Bung Khla Sub-district, Lom Sak District, Tha Phon and Pa Lao Sub-district, Mueang Phetchabun District, Camp Son, Thung Samo, Rim Si Muang, Khao Kho, Sado Phong, and Nong Mae Na Sub-district, Khao Kho District, Phatchabun Province Announce that it is designated as Khao Kho National Park.
Biodiversity in Khao Kho National Park is varied, with many plant species and animals, as well as natural wonders and breathtaking scenery such aswaterfalls, caves, islands, rapids, cliffs, and scenic views. For a long time, the Historic Battlefield site where the the Army foughtcommunist terrorists was peaceful, but nowadays it is a monument to the martyrs who died in the war. The village/bridge name, in particular, incorporate the fallen’s names and is a memorial to the many individuals who made the ultimate sacrifice. Khao Kho Palace is also in the park, and is a magnificent structure built for His Majesty the King and Queen on the occasion of His Highness's residence in Khao Kho, Phetchabun.
In 2012, Khao Kho National Park became the 125th National Park in Thailand.

It is a mountain range that stretches from north to south, with tower karst mountains providing the highest peaks. The summits are between 155 meters to the highest point of 1,593 meters above sea level. As these mountains were once all tower karst formation so there are sandstone mountain summits or plainson the summits, which are a tourist attraction in Phetchabun. "Phu Thap Boek" is the highest mountain in the southern part at a height of 1,786 meters. Khao Kho National Park's forestsare classified as either natural or planted. They cover more than 50% of the area and are comprised of mixed deciduous forests. , deciduous dipterocarp forest, or red forest, tropical evergreen forest , grassland, numerous economically valuable plants such as Dipterocarpus, Teak, Burma Padauk, Iron Wood, Black Rosewood, Burmese Sal, Hopea odorata, Pinus kesiya Royle ex Gordon, Lithocarpus cerifera, Herb, Orchid, and various forests ground plants. Forest conditions provide habitats, food sources, and refuge for wild animals such as Wild Elephants, Wild Boars, Mouse Deer, Porcupine, Burmese Hare, Langur, Common Palm Civet, Clouded Monitor Lizard, Red Junglefowl, Slow Lorises, and various types of snakes. There are also numerous bird species and butterfly species number in the hundreds.

How to get there by car :
From Bangkok, take Asian Highway No. 1 to Saraburi Province. milestone No. 125, turn right onto Highway No. 21 (Saraburi - Lom Sak) and continue for 221 kilometers to Phetchabun Province for a distance of approximately 346 kilometers. And from Phetchabun town. Take Highway 21 (Saraburi - Lom Sak), Phetchabun - Lom Sak route forapproximately 14 kilometers from Na Ngua intersection at milestone No. 236 bear left onto Highway No. 2258 (Na Ngua-Nong Mae Na) for approximately 25.5 kilometers, and then go right towards Khao To Palace, which is approximately 500 meters from the headquarters of Khao Kho National Park.
